Tinton Gold Project of Capella Resources Ltd and Capella Resources is a 1270 hectare landholding which is contained in 157 unpatented mining claims. It is a 100% owned property of the company. The Tinton gold property is located 15 kilometers west-northwest of the famous and historic Homestake Mine in Black Hills at Lead which has been exploring the Tinton Area since the 1940. The Northern Black Hills are intersected by two major plate scale structures and gold production of over 45 million troy ounces has been realized at their intersection. The gold mineralization process at the Homestake Mine is hosted within plunging synclinal fold structures of the Early Proterozoic Homestake Iron Formation associated with extensive ductile shearing.
According to the geologists of Capella Resource Ltd and Capella Resources there are evidences that a blind Homestake-style deposit with 40 million ounce potential is situated under Paleozoic cover in the area of the Capella claims group on the east side of the Tinton Dome. Work performed on the Tinton property includes a regional gravity survey, systematic sampling for gold of the Eocambrian outcrops, and two deep core holes (WR-93-1 and WR-94-2) spaced approximately 7km apart.
In 2006 Brain Cole, P. Geo completed an independent review of the Tinton Gold Project on behalf of Capella Resources Ltd. and Capella Resources He analyzed 16 contiguous chip samples taken from the nearby adit that contained anomalous gold in basal Deadwood sandstone. Out of 16 samples 14 were from sandstone and 2 from an Eocene-age intrusive sill. His analysis showed that nine out of fourteen samples in sandstone contained gold values more than 100ppb. Capella Resources Ltd. and Capella Resources has also received drilling permits for its Tinton property and a 2000 meter hole is expected to be drilled to the east of the adit.
